The principal of St. James School, Gregg Boehmer, has resigned effective October 31 for personal reasons.  He has served since the 2021-22 school year.  The Archdiocese will be naming an interim principal to serve out the remainder of the 2025-26 school year and will assist us in a search for a full-time principal to start the 2026-27 school year.  The interim principal will be assisted by a “transition team” that will help us assess all aspects of our school ministry, particularly instruction and curriculum, but also safety of students and teachers and the maintenance and improvement of the building.  This information will be invaluable to our parish leadership as well as our Legacy donors.  We wish Gregg and his wife, Jamie, well as they pursue other endeavors.

Phil “Pip” Hines, the Music and Choir Director at St. James Church, has announced his permanent retirement effective January 13, 2026.  Pip has served the Church in varying places for over fifty years.  He intends to remain a parishioner here and to join the choir so we will not be saying farewell.   We have begun the process of searching for a new Director of Music and Choir.

Kate Breen, editor of this bulletin and member of the staff for both parishes has announced her retirement later this month.  Kate has served in the Archdiocese as a teacher, an alumnae director, and a library media specialist, as well as working on our staff.  She intends to remain an active parishioner and continue her ministry as lector and sacristan.

This is a lot of turnover at once, but it is also natural for a church staff that is our size.  We will be doing some things differently while also bringing new people on the staff.  The parish leadership is working with me on our ongoing desire to grow both of our unique and beautiful churches.  Please take the time to thank both Pip and Kate for their many years of faithful service and express our joy that they will remain with us as active parishioners.
